Yes, and there are many indications that we are living in the days he spoke of (eg. Luke 17:26­30; 21:24­33) which will culminate in his return. The world could certainly do with a righteous and beneficent ruler who has the power and authority to solve its problems. Psalm 72 gives a delightful picture of Jesus Christ as king.
